The IVBA AGM 2025 will be on:

Guest speakers include Dr Karen Heistand BVSc, BSc, MSc
and Wendy Cummins NCert (AnBehav) DipAVN (Surgical) DipAVN (Medical) RVN

It will be held on Friday April 25th, The Maldron Hotel, Portlaoise, Co. Laoise (R32 HKN3) 10am- 17pm
We are keen to ensure our membership and conference delegates get to hear about new research or behavioural initiatives happening currently in Ireland.

This is a great opportunity for those in clinical practice, students or anyone keen to "cut their teeth" in a bit of applied research, to practice summarising and presenting a short talk or poster, on their chosen topic.

Successful abstract presenters will have the opportunity to attend the conference either FREE or at a subsidised rate. More info at www.ivba.ie
 Abstract Rules:
  • Abstract topics DO NOT need to be related to the study day theme but equally they can be.
  • Abstracts can be any of the following:

    • Literature review on an animal behavioural topic.
    • Practice or company initiative relating to improving animal behaviour.
    • Current behavioural issues which relate to Ireland and/or the EU
    • Another format you would like us to consider (if in doubt please ask, we would like to be as inclusive and open minded as possible.

    • B. Option 2: Poster presentation
Two formats of the same poster will be prepared, one in electronic format (e.g. a powerpoint slide) and a hard copy.  Electronic posters will be projected in the conference room, where presenters will have 3 minutes to talk around the subject. Hard copies of the poster will be displayed at the study day venue (please print posters no larger than A2 (594mm x 420 mm) portrait; please note, there are no printing facilities on site).
Please indicate on your abstract submission whether it is to be considered for:
  • A spoken presentation
  • B poster presentation, or
  • C you don’t mind and either can be considered.
Abstract presenters must be able to attend the conference on the day.
  • Abstracts should be no more than 500 words (minimum 300) using Times New Roman 12 font (either free prose or subdivided into sections such as Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion).
